I've never been conscious of Memorial Day (ours is 11/11) until I saw the posts being posted yesterday.

I've visted war cemetaries in northern France and they certainly make you stop and think awhile.

Yes, I too have visited many WW1 sites in Northern France.

In two weeks time, we'll be back in France (summer vacation!) and plan to visit the WW2 Cemetery/Monument at Normandy while there.

They do make you stop and think...

I posted this because I didn't think many folks knew about the site in the Netherlands - we visited several years ago - and it left a lasting impression on me.

By the way, 11/11 is "Veteren's Day" in the USA (also a rememberence day).

Indrukwekkend indeed, it keeps a lasting memory to visit that cemetery.

Did you know about his site?

Death in the Netherlands?

René,

Thank you for that link!
I didn't know of that site, but I have visited several of the gravesites/monumnets that are listed there (especially the ones that are in the Utrecht province).
