Église St. Martin de Ré in St. Martin en Ré on Île de Ré
June 11, 2013 ~ St. Martin en Ré , Île de Ré, France

While I was busy drawing, my husband climbed the winding, narrow, stairs of the church's bell tower to get pics of the views over this part of the island.

View from atop the bell tower of Église St. Martin de Ré

I'm certain the views from the bell tower were gorgeous, but
I don't climb tall medieval bell towers anymore. After climbing the 465 steps of the bell tower ( domtoren (link is in english) ) of the Dom Church in Utrecht, year's ago, I figure I've done enough steps! lol :o))

tot ziens,
Judy

Lovely sketches Judy, I love the way you frame them in your Moleskine.

Thanks Suzy - hope you continue to enjoy my "journeys". :)

Thanks Doug :) - I always frame everything that way - it's a habit I can't break after all these years. lol. Drawing & painting professors at univ insisted upon approaching all 2-d work with an interior lined frame on the paper or whatever, instead of painting/drawing to the edge. Easier to mat & frame when your done and better way to understand a good crop for an image.

Thanks to you too K. :)
